Hey, my name is Becky. I am a Chinese teacher certified by the Confucius Institute with 14 years of teaching experience.
For foreign Chinese learners, sentence structures are the key to learning Mandarin Chinese, and context is the second. To build a good foundation, I persist in systematic learning and continuous practicing with meaningful content, one sentence by one sentence, one structure by one structure, one article by one article, making a little progress every day. I believe it will be easier to complete this long journey if you have some tasks every week.
You can join my Membership to get my Chinese practice materials. You can pay $10 monthly to get all exercises based on the NEW HSK1 to HSK9 Standard (2021 edition) and pay $20 monthly for my Podcast about Chinese culture, history, travel, and life in China, which will be updated weekly.

Fantastic teacher and a great person!
"I have had two trips to China this year (summer for a month and winter for 2 weeks) and both times I had almost daily Mandarin lessons with Becky. I felt that my level improved greatly after both trips. Becky has a very patient manner, is very friendly, knowledgeable, and her lessons are always interesting - with challenges at just the right level. I would highly recommend her - and I personally can't wait to get back to continue our lessons! Date of experience: December 2019"

Awesome teacher
“Becky is a caring teacher who really takes her job seriously. She tries to find the best and most effective way to teach each individual student, understanding that every student’s learning style is different. She shares her thoughts and life openly, is just as much friend as she is teacher. Strongly recommend studying with her. Date of experience: May 2019”

Amazing, great fun. Highly recommended
"I enjoyed Becky's lessons so much. I have been struggling to learn basic Mandarin for more than one year. Becky brings Mandarin to life and is incredibly patient. She makes learning fun. Now that my mandarin is improving i can enjoy speaking to people, and this motivates me to learn even harder. Xie xie Becky!"

Excellent teacher!
“I had Chinese classes with Becky whilst staying in Yangshuo and she is a great teacher! She made classes fun and interesting, I always felt like I learned a lot and she kept me motivated to keep learning. She is efficient, fun and great at bridging the gap between Chinese and English, making it easy to learn. If you're looking for private Chinese classes, I can highly recommend Becky! Learn Chinese with a fantastic teacher in the best city in China!
"I have been taking Chinese lessons with Becky off and on for 9 years. I have had many lessons with her, both as a younger traveler learning survival Chinese and as an experienced speaker discussing advanced topics. As a teacher, she is as good as it gets. She has 9 years of experience teaching foreigners of all backgrounds. She tailors her lesson plans to your specific needs and skill level. As an individual, she is enthusiastic and personable. She has a strong intellectual curiosity that makes her a great conversationalist. We have had long discussions on everything from Chinese calligraphy to cryptocurrency ICOs to traditional foot massage. Furthermore she is a long time Yangshuo resident with the very best tips on restaurants, activities, and local culture. Whether you are in town for a few days looking for a fun cultural activity or you are looking for a full immersion language experience (I have been to Yangshuo for both), Becky has my highest recommendation. Personalized Chinese language lessons
“I recently had 10 one hour private lessons in Chinese with a lovely young woman by the first name of Becky. She came to the Yangshuo Traditional Tai Chi School once per week for me as well as for a few of the other students. Becky was very attentive to my lack of understanding. We began by learning single words that I wanted to know so as to get around town easily. From there she taught me the Pinyin form of Chinese, the tones, and proper sentence structures. I have learned quite a lot in the short time in which she was my teacher. It has been much easier for me to get around now knowing how to ask for and direct a taxi to where I wish to go, ask for the bill or the toilet in a restaurant, change large notes for smaller notes at the bank, etc. I would recommend Becky to anyone interested in learning the Chinese Language in a heart beat! She is very personable, quite compassionate and has a great sense of humor. So I would say that you need look no further and give Becky a call. You won’t regret it! Cheers!

Excellent!
"As a high-level learner, it’s not easy to find a capable teacher who can help me with my fossilized errors, but Becky was able to suggest ways for me to improve. I had a lot of fun in her lessons, but I also always finished the class with my brain fried as it was actually a lot of work! I’m planning to keep working with her even when I’m not in China and have my lessons online! Highly recommended to every level! Date of experience: June 2019"

You have to meet her!
“Becky is a very cosmopolitan, modern woman who understands both Chinese and Western culture, and consequently is a great teacher who can bridge the gap of understanding between the cultures. Excellent painter and calligrapher, you can even combine such lessons with Chinese. If you want to understand the younger generation in China today, Becky is the one for you! Excellent teacher!
“Becky is my first real Chinese teacher. Her best ability is that she is very flexible and her prices are good. She is so flexible that she came to visit me for a month, almost everyday, to teach me Chinese when I was in the hospital and was bed bound even bringing me groceries as well. She taught me my first word in Chinese "toilet" which was very helpful when in the hospital. After a few months when I was stuck again with my Chinese she came to help me. I'm very grateful to have met her and to have a lot of lessons with her. Without her my Chinese would still be very bad so I give my teacher 5 stars. Thank you so much Becky. Zai jian! Excellent teacher
"My husband and I had the pleasure of studying beginners' Chinese with Becky when we were staying in Yangshuo for three weeks. Becky is an excellent teacher - knowledgable, engaging, enthusiastic, demanding (in the best possible way!), fun, talented and generous with her time and energy. We only had a *very short* amount of time to learn with her, but I came away with a basic understanding of the grammar, pronunciation, etc. and a deep appreciation for this beautiful language, plus some useful words and phrases to see us through the rest of our journey through China. Becky spent time with us outside the classroom which we appreciated because of the chance to see / use Chinese in real world situations but also just because she is so much fun and just a genuinely nice person. I’d happily recommend her to anyone interested in studying Chinese. Date of experience: June 2018"

Great Teacher
"I studied Chinese with Becky over the summer of 2016. She is a good teacher for a number of reasons. She is supportive, enthusiastic, and easy to get along with. Additionally, she has a deep understanding of the Chinese language itself and is also knowledgeable about aspects of the culture that interest many foreigners, such as painting and calligraphy. Finally, I believe that she has a firm grasp of language pedagogy, which she applies throughout the course of her classes. The result is that she is able to help both beginners and advanced students of the language. Date of experience: June 2018"

Fantastic teacher!
"I’ve studied mandarin with Becky for about two years, and have made great strides towards fluency during my studies. She is kind, patient, and always brings a great attitude to the lesson. Not only have I learned the language, but I have also learned about the culture and lifestyle through our conversations. Highly recommended! Date of experience: May 2019"

Best Chinese teacher in Yangshuo
"I took individual Chinese lessons with Becky when I was in Yangshuo last October. She also served as our tour guide, taking us on bike trips through the country side and also on a river raft tour. Becky speaks very good English and teaches in a way that makes it easy for non-native speakers to understand Chinese. Her teaching style is suitable for all levels from beginner to advanced. I am currently taking Skype lessons with Becky and hope pass the HSK 4 exam soon. I highly recommend her both as a teacher and tour guide. Date of experience: October 2018"

Chinese Classes Catered to your needs!
"I have known Becky for over a year and learned Chinese with her on 2 separate trips to Yangshuo. I am a terrible student when it comes to auditory skills and ability so I found it (and still do) challenging to understand Spoken Chinese. Becky was able to structure the classes and activities to best cater to my needs (and weaknesses). She is always available to answer questions and help. I consider her a good friend and will definitely study with her again (and drink caramel milk tea). Date of experience: December 2018"

Great teacher, great location
"I had been to Yangshuo before and had also been studying Chinese with 6 Becky before. Yangshuo has a wonderful water and mountain landscape and is great for cycling and hiking. Becky is a great teacher and understands the difference in the way of thinking of Chinese Westerner which is really helpful in analysing her students' problems. She is a really reliable and helpful person and can help organising tours or trips to other places and in case you run into any problems she will know what to do...
I will definitely come back to Yangshuo and take Chinese lessons with Becky again. Date of experience: June 2018"
