根gēn, A measure word for long and thin things.

一般用来做细而长的东西的量词。比如:一根头发,两根香肠,三根蜡烛,四根筷子,五根面条。

 

Translate the following sentences with the measure word “根”

1 I bought a radish in the supermarket.

2 I need to buy some green onions.

3 Everyone has ten fingers.

4 How many bananas did you buy yesterday?

5 People in my hometown are used to eating with one chopstick.

6 How many cigarettes do you smoke every day?

 

Answer:

1 我在超市买了一根萝卜。 Wǒ zài chāoshì mǎi le yī gēn luóbo.

2 我需要去买几根葱。 Wǒ xūyào qù mǎi jǐ gēn cōng.

3 每个人都有十根手指。 Měi ge rén dōu yǒu shí gēn shǒuzhǐ.

4 你昨天买了几根香蕉? Nǐ zuótiān mǎi le jǐ gēn xiāngjiāo?

5 我家乡的人习惯用一根筷子吃饭。 Wǒ jiāxiāng de rén xíguàn yòng yī gēn kuàizi chīfàn.

6 你每天要抽多少根烟? Nǐ měitiān yào chōu duōshǎo gēn yān?
