“老lǎo + surname” to call someone who is older than you in casual occasions, to show the relationship is close.

老王 Lǎo Wáng,老李Lǎo Lǐ,老黄 Lǎo Huáng

 

Translate the following sentences into Chinese.

1.Lao Zhang, are you free today?

2.Lao Li, are you busy with work recently?

3.Lao Zhou’s son is eighteen years old.

 

Answer:

1.老张,今天有空儿吗?

Lǎo Zhāng, jīntiān yǒu kòngr ma?
